2018+ HIV Advocacy in Poland (milestones)
| 2018 Nov | my HIV (U=U) coming out during #AIDS2018PL Poland Conference for HIV/AIDS Specialists. |
| 2019 April | nationwide (Poland) mainstream media coming out as a “HIV+ gay male” to promote U=U message; |
| 2019-2022 | run a self-funded grassroots HIV U=U “Niewykrywalni” (Undetectables) campaign in Poland in mainstream media – in parallel to a nationwide smear campaign ‘LGBTQ+ Free Zones’ run by ruling PiS party; |
| 2021 July | designed/launched the first on-line sexual health clinic platform in Poland for Podwale Siedem Association. |
| 2024 March | became a ‘civil society’ member of a newly formed HIV/AIDS Prevention Task Force in polish Parliament. |
| 2025 July | after 6 years of my HIV advocacy push against conservative board of directors in Polish AIDS National Center (Agenda within Polish Ministry of Health agenda) U=U became the official policy of polish Ministry of Health for educating HIV/AIDS specialists in Poland. |
2019 Nov Mr Bear of Honor Europe
The organization ‘Mr. Bear Europe’ (Koln, Germany is proud to award the lifelong title ‘Mr. Bear of Honor Europe’ to Tom Siara due to his extraordinary commitment to the fight against HIV, as well as his social awareness and HIV prevention efforts.
Furthermore, we want to honor and highlight his tireless work regarding communication and unification of the international bear community.
